BLACK FRIENDS
by Erica Jensen
She checked every diversity box... except the one that mattered.
Jessica has spent her entire life surrounded by white people—and never questioned it. But when the DEI boom turns identity into everyone's favorite conversation, she realizes she's the only Black person in every room she's ever entered. Determined to reconnect with a culture she's never truly known, Jessica does the only thing that makes sense in a world where everything is a subscription service: she rents a Black friend. What begins as an awkward transaction spirals into an unpredictable friendship that forces Jessica and her new black friend to confront performative allyship, cultural expectations, loneliness, and the absurd lengths people will go to feel like they belong.
BLACK FRIENDS - A razor-sharp comedy with heart about race, identity and friendship.
